The main route west out of San Jose is the Pan-American highway, which quickly turns into a two-lane road. We turned off to the south at the town of Atenas, which seems to have been founded by Greek revivalists and is now home for many sedentary American retirees. A tourist website says it has the most pleasant climate in the world. From there, we began our journey over the mountains.
Costa Rica, much like Mexico, has a radial population structure; the middle of the country is where most of the people live. With all roads leading to San Jose, the land grows steadily emptier as you drive into the outer provinces. Sometimes the mountains were cleared for grazing; the cattle, for some reason, always looked thin; and otherwise they were clothed with dense thickets of tropical species that seemed undifferentiated to my untrained eye.
The road spiraled down until we reached a jungly network of slow-moving rivers, inhabited by pests.
They're safe to observe from the bridge over the Rio Grande de Tárcoles. The river is contaminated with urban sewage.
We stopped for a jar of black beans at a tourist trap that had sprung up next to the bridge, where we found an open-air bar and lunch place of the sort that's common all over the country. We reached the Pacific at a narrow point that looks across to a peninsula. The air was dry there. We could see pelicans.
The road briefly became well-maintained near the resort town of Jacó, where many of the billboards were in English. We continued south through palm oil farms (rows of trees in single file) and across one-lane bridges: One of them, dubbed the "musical bridge," was built of discrete metal cylinders that jangle as you jerk across.
Thank you such a beautiful pictures !Costa Rica is looking great place. I have heard lot about it but never visited it..I wish I will go there very soon..

It is also wise if you get a recommendation from someone you know in the legal system.
