Great Falls park grows over what used to be the town of Matildaville. George Washington built a canal ("Patowmack," it was called) and the town appeared to provide inns and whiskey (I am assuming) to transients. Now it is in ruins.
The above structure used to be known as the company house.
But to an untrained eye, all ruins look the same.
