Since I don't drink much tea at work (and my job has enough complications without bringing tea leaves in), by default I end up drinking a lot of herbal teas before I go to sleep. I like to pick teas with spices or other strong flavors to provide a sort of simulated stimulation, so that I won't be under the impression that what I am drinking is in any way weak. I like this tea, described as "a blend of Indonesian cinnamon, Egyptian marigolds and apricots." Its color, for some reason, is green. The spice in this tea is more of an accompaniment than it is the dominant taste.
Apart from the tisanes, spices can be good with real teas as well. This spice tea (sold decaffeinated as well) is a good Christmas blend, but if too strong it can make me thirsty. At Ethiopian restaurants they prepare hot water using spices; cinnamon and cardamom, I think, and maybe others; and then throw in a bag of black Lipton. The type or quality of tea doesn't seem to matter in this case, as the spices have already determined its character.
